4 trade targets the Reds could land from eliminated Wild Card teams

The Cincinnati Reds, coming off a 75-87 season, are looking to acquire players from eliminated playoff teams. Potential targets include Chicago Cubs infielder Matt Shaw, a 24-year-old versatile defender who hit .237/.327/.410 with a 104 wRC+ in 2026; Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran, who struggled this season with a .207/.266/.361 line but was an MVP candidate two years ago; and Houston Astros pitcher AJ Blubaugh, a multi-role arm who posted a 3.66 ERA across 96 innings in 2026. All three players remain under team control with reasonable acquisition costs.
