Cincinnati Reds vs. San Diego Padres – Brandon Williamson vs. Casey Mize

Brandon Williamson takes the mound for Cincinnati against San Diego on Wednesday in his first appearance since April 29, returning from a shoulder injury that sidelined him for most of the 2026 season. The right-hander missed all of 2025 following Tommy John surgery and appeared in only three games during 2024, making his availability down the stretch crucial for the Reds' 2027 rotation planning. Casey Mize starts for the Padres in the series finale, which begins at 12:40 PM ET.
