Reds could find a bargain in former Royals' top prospect with well-rounded game

Drew Waters, a 27-year-old former Kansas City Royals prospect, could be an affordable depth option for the Cincinnati Reds. Waters didn't play in the majors last season but is a solid defender, baserunner, and switch-hitter with strong platoon splits, including a .327/.380/.509 performance against left-handed pitching in Triple-A. He also stole 21 bases in Triple-A this year and has played all three outfield positions throughout his career. The Reds could add him on a minor-league deal to provide depth as a fourth or fifth outfielder.
