Reds News: Carlos Jorge web gem, Luke Holman AFL dominance, Orioles sign ex-pitcher

Carlos Jorge made a diving catch for the Gigantes del Cibao in Dominican Winter League play, robbing former Reds shortstop Jose Barrero of a hit in the fourth inning. Jorge is competing in winter ball hoping to earn a spot on Cincinnati's 2027 Opening Day roster, with opportunities available after TJ Friedl's departure and Blake Dunn's elbow surgery. Luke Holman, a 2024 second-round pick, has dominated in Arizona Fall League play with the Peoria Javelinas, striking out 15 batters across three games while allowing just one run. Left-hander Jayvien Sandridge signed a minor-league deal with the Baltimore Orioles, returning to the organization that originally drafted him in 2018.
