Barry Larkin holds the record as the youngest Cincinnati Reds player to win a Silver Slugger Award, which he first captured in 1988 at an unspecified age after a standout season with a .296 average, 12 home runs, and just 24 strikeouts in 151 games. Larkin went on to win nine Silver Slugger Awards total, including five consecutive from 1988 to 1992. Dave Parker, a Cincinnati native recently inducted into the Hall of Fame, is the oldest Reds player to win the award, doing so at age 35 in 1986 when he appeared in all 162 games and drove in 116 runs. If Sal Stewart wins this year at age 22, he would become the youngest Silver Slugger winner in franchise history.
